Tour Information
Our
goal is to help you feel comfortable in the tasting room,
learn a little about Oregon and wines in general, have a great time, and
taste some nice wines. We want to provide you with an exceptional
experience here in wine country. We specialize in small group
tours. I want to share our passion of wine with you and to provide
a
Hours: Tours are generally
from 10am - 6pm unless you request otherwise. We operate seven
days a week - Year round. Most tasting rooms are open at least from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Some wineries are open only by appointment. During the Fall and Winter months (Nov. - Jan.), wineries are generally open to the public from Thursday through Sunday. Many are still open seven days a week.
We take care of all of the arrangements so you don't have to worry about it. Your tour will be completely arranged by our staff.
Lunch can be arranged at a
winery (picnic style) during the day or we can stop at one of many
excellent restaurants. When booking your tour, let us know if you would
like more information on lunch or dinner options. Check out our
Specials Page for specific information about Wine Makers Dinners and
other wine/food related events.
This is our 12 passenger van (faux limo!). Dark tinted windows, doors on both sides and fully heated. The van is always very clean and detailed between every tour. We love to listen to music, stop for pictures and tell jokes so please relax and enjoy the day. Allow us to do whatever we can to make your experience one that you will remember fondly for years and years to come.
Sorry, we don't have a limo. They are too impersonal for me. I enjoy talking to my guests! "You're why I do this". Our whole reason for being in business is making sure you have a time that you will remember for a lifetime. I hope you can respect that. If all you want is a fancy car, I'm sorry, we are the wrong company for that. If you are looking for a personal and intimate wine tasting experience, give us a call. We are not pretentious and snobby. Wine is meant to be enjoyed by all. If you are uncomfortable in the tasting rooms or intimidated by the terms or anything, allow us to introduce you to the staff, and ease you through the day without fear.

An example of one of our wine makers. Todd Hamina of Biggio Hamina Cellars started working in the vineyard at Archery Summit and quickly found him self working at the side of Gary Andrus. From there he went to Patton Valley and then to Maysara. In each case, he was able to take the winery to new levels of notoriety with national and international wine critics. Now Todd has started his own winery Biggio Hamina Cellars. He is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable wine makers in the valley and has the connections and the respect of many, many wine makers. The Willamette Valley is where you get world class Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. But we don't have much of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier, Merlot, Zinfandel and Syrah. It's just too cool in the Willamette Valley to grow those varietals. The Columbia Gorge on the other hand offers these wines and spectacular views. Fruit stands are abundant as well as excellent restaurants and other scenic vistas. We will visit wineries in Hood River which is a beautiful one hour drive from Portland (vs. a 45 minute drive to wine country from downtown). The beautiful Columbia River, Mt. Hood, Mt Adams and fruit trees surround the wineries and vineyards. The staff at the wineries are very friendly and the lines are... not there! If you are looking for a little slower pace surrounded in the beauty of the Columbia Gorge and the big red (and white) wines then this is an excellent alternative for you. *An additional fee may apply depending on pick up location and number of guests. Thank you so much for the terrific tour. My mother and I had a wonderful time and learned about wine to boot! We loved the small tour size and the personal service that you provided. We especially liked the way you could tell what we wanted to taste and you chose the best wineries for us. Thanks again, Jill P (05/05)

Hi Ron – I just wanted to drop you a note and tell you how much fun we had on our wine tour with you and Harry, et al. It was a great experience . . one that we won’t soon forget. It was the best wine tour we’ve ever been on because we were lucky enough to experience some things that I guess you usually get to experience only if you are a sommelier! Thank you for making my birthday weekend in Portland even better than it already was. I will be sure to recommend your company to any friends that decide to head in your direction for a wine tasting and I hope we will see you again somewhere down the road!
Take care,
Mendy (03/09)

I took Heather on a wine tour for her birthday with Oregon Wine Tours about a weeks ago. I explained to Ron she understood Red wine’s and I was the newbie...
an experience bar none one that I will never forget. Ron is an incredible man of knowledge of wine and the local wineries. He doesn’t just put you in the “commercial” wine tasting venues
but an experience to be savored. Something to be
remembered. One could say to themselves I got to taste the
essence of Oregon Wines.
pleasant
for both couples.

* Larry and I returned to Albuquerque this afternoon. There
are no words to describe the wine tour experience you
provided us. We are still heady with delight at all four
wineries. Our experience at Domain Drouhin was beyond all
expectations. Thank you for an exceptional experience.
Thank you for being the icing on the vacation to Portland!
We trust we will meet again! Larry and Joyce (09/09)

We wanted to take a moment to
thank you again for an exceptional experience. We both
enjoyed the day of wine touring with you more than we can
express.
The morning of our tour, Dan
wasn't really all that enthused about going -- he was more
humoring his wife. But I know him pretty well, and can tell
you by the
second vineyard he was
changing his mind. He's not an overly talkative or
demonstrative fellow in strange situations, but I could tell
he was engaged because he
was asking you questions.
This is not something Dan is prone to do unless he 1) finds
the topic engaging and 2) finds the person he's questioning
to have some
intellect and chops about the
topic. He was also very enthusiastic later and even so when
telling others
about the experience. So,
Ron, if you can achieve that, you have hit a
home run! I enjoyed it
as well, but for my husband to be so engaged and enthused
was a bonus that I wasn't expecting. In fact, we were both
so impressed with what was not just a tasting
experience, but a fantastic
learning experience. Your wine knowledge and passion is
evident and delivered in such a personable way.
Thank you for an absolutely
perfect ending to our wonderful Oregon Experience.
Best regards,
Kim & Dan S. (10/09)
